About the Author

Hi everyone, my name is Rowan, and I'm 9 years old. I love nature, and over time I've grown connected to it. In fact, I'm even named after a tree.

I've started a small movement in my town, Elmhurst, right by Chicago to ban plastic bags. I wrote a letter to the mayor and I go on trash walks which are walks where my family and I pick up trash.
